The Wheel of Time Season 3: New Cast Members Revealed | Prime Video's Fantasy Epic Expands

Amazon Prime Video's ambitious adaptation of Robert Jordan's beloved fantasy series continues to grow as five new cast members join The Wheel of Time for its highly anticipated third season, scheduled to premiere globally on March 13, 2025.

New Faces in the World of The Wheel of Time

The fantasy series has added an impressive roster of talent to bring key characters to life, particularly expanding the mysterious Aiel culture that plays a crucial role in the upcoming season. Isabella Bucceri, Nukâka Coster-Waldau, Salóme Gunnarsdóttir, Björn Landberg, and Synnøve Macody Lund will join the existing ensemble cast.

Isabella Bucceri as Faile Bashere: The Horn Hunter

Known for her compelling performances in "Finally Me" and "Everything in Between," Isabella Bucceri steps into the role of Faile Bashere, a Saldaean "Horn Hunter" whose quest for a sacred relic brings her to the Two Rivers region. Bucceri's character will feature prominently in one of the season's main storylines, adding a new dimension to the expanding narrative.

The Aiel Take Center Stage

Season 3 places significant focus on the Aiel culture, with several new cast members portraying key figures from this warrior society:

Nukâka Coster-Waldau ("Thin Ice," "Anori") takes on the role of Bair, the most senior and respected Wise One of the Taardad Aiel. Wielding more authority than even the Clan Chief, Bair possesses not only the ability to channel the One Power but also harbors more mysterious abilities.

Salóme Gunnarsdóttir, recognized from "The Lazarus Project" and "Justice League," joins as Melaine, another Wise One of the Taardad Aiel. While her character cannot channel the One Power, she possesses unique mystical abilities that will play a vital role in the story.

Björn Landberg, familiar to audiences from "Galileo Mystery" and "Unter uns," portrays Rhuarc, the respected Clan Chief of the Taardad Aiel. Having passed the trial at Rhuidean, Rhuarc stands among the few Aiel who know the secrets hidden in the mists – knowledge he must carry in silence.

A New Perspective on a Classic Character

Synnøve Macody Lund ("Ragnarok," "Saw X") brings to life Melhindra, a Malkieri survivor raised by the Taardad Aiel. This character represents a departure from the source material, featuring a reimagined backstory that promises to add new layers to the narrative.

What to Expect in Season 3

Following the second season's climactic finale, which saw Rand declared the Dragon Reborn after defeating Ishamael and reuniting with his Two Rivers companions, the third season raises the stakes considerably. The Light faces mounting threats: the White Tower stands divided, the Black Ajah roams free, and the remaining Forsaken pursue the Dragon. Of particular interest is Lanfear, whose complex relationship with Rand suggests a crucial choice between Light and Dark for both characters.

Behind the Scenes

Created by Rafe Judkins and produced as a collaboration between Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television, The Wheel of Time continues to bring Robert Jordan's intricate world to life. The series stars Rosamund Pike, Madeleine Madden, and Josha Stradowski in leading roles. Early indications suggest that the new season will maintain closer fidelity to the source material, exciting news for longtime fans of Jordan's work.
