Seth MacFarlane's 'Ted' Series Renewed for Season 2

Ted will return for a second season. Seth MacFarlane's popular character, the teddy bear Ted, has received the green light for a new season.

Peacock has given the go-ahead for the second season of Ted. The TV series, which explores the past of the beloved teddy bear, will continue with new episodes.

Created by comedian and actor Seth MacFarlane, Ted first appeared on the big screen in 2012. With a budget of $50 million, the film grossed approximately $550 million. The sequel, released in 2015, continued to tell the adventures of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) and his teddy bear Ted.

Although fans hoped for a third film, Ted's story continued in a TV series format. Announced in June 2011, the first season of the series premiered on Peacock in January 2024. Four months later, the network decided to renew the series for another season.

Ted Returns for a Second Season

The Peacock-produced series is set decades before the events of the first film, when John Bennett (played by Max Burkholder) and Ted were still in high school. It explores how their friendship was formed.

The series also introduces characters such as Susan (Alanna Ubach), Matty (Scott Grimes), and Blaire (Giorgia Whigham), further expanding the story of the entire Bennett family.

Seth MacFarlane, in addition to being the writer and producer, directed each episode of the first season. It is not yet known if he will continue directing the series in the second season. The new season plans to continue exploring Ted's influence on John's life.

The second film in the series grossed $215 million worldwide, although it was not as successful as the first. However, it still managed to generate profits for Universal Pictures.

The first season of the Ted series became one of Peacock's most-watched original productions, achieving an average rating of 7.9/10 on IMDb. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series received a 72% rating from critics and a 90% rating from the audience.

The release date for the second season of Ted has not yet been announced. Additionally, there is no news yet regarding a third film in the series.
