"Now You See Me 3": Tension Brews Between Atlas and New Recruit

In the upcoming "Now You See Me 3," expect some friction between Jesse Eisenberg's character, J. Daniel Atlas, and one of the new recruits. According to Dominic Sessa, who plays Bosco, a fresh face in the world of illusion, there might be a power struggle.

The third installment sees Atlas enlisting a new generation of magicians for an elaborate scheme. However, they will need to join forces with the original Four Horsemen when a new threat emerges. Sessa's character, Bosco, seems to challenge Atlas's established role as the leader.

Bosco vs. Atlas: A Clash of Egos Sessa explains that Bosco, as the prominent member of his group, is essentially "fighting for the same space" as Atlas. He's "trying to fill his shoes," potentially leading to conflict between the two illusionists. Sessa elaborates, "I think my character, in particular, is sort of trying to fill his shoes in a way. We're fighting for the same space because that's how Atlas has existed in this series; he's the face, and people take his lead. He also has that self-righteous attitude towards himself, and I think Bosco definitely shares that a little bit, which maybe creates a bit of a conflict between them."

What This Means for "Now You See Me 3" Bosco seems to mirror some of Atlas's traits. The trailer for "Now You See Me 3" even shows Bosco doing an impression of Atlas, which he proudly displays right before Eisenberg's character enters the scene. This immediately sets up a dynamic of playful rivalry and underlying tension. On the other hand, Atlas's need to recruit new members stems from a falling out with the original Four Horsemen. Sessa's observation about Atlas's "self-righteous attitude" suggests that the seasoned illusionist might have some personal issues to resolve in the new film.

A Different Dynamic Unlike Atlas, who appears isolated at the beginning of the trailer, Bosco is surrounded by a supportive group. Ariana Greenblatt, who plays June, the pickpocket of the new crew, mentioned in the same interview that her character acts as a protector to the other two. They function as a family, meaning that if Atlas gives Bosco trouble, he'll be facing the entire trio. This suggests that the Four Horsemen, despite their experience, might find themselves learning a thing or two from the younger generation in "Now You See Me 3." While the franchise is known for its captivating tricks and heists, the character dynamics promise to be just as engaging this time around. It's clear that Atlas won't have an easy ride in this installment.
