This commitment means exciting new games and features for the beloved console, ensuring a vibrant future for Switch owners. Many speculate these games will work on the new system as well through backwards compatibility.

Upcoming Switch Games The Nintendo Direct presentation highlighted a variety of upcoming titles. While Nintendo confirmed beforehand that there would be "no updates about Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation," the focus remained on showcasing upcoming Switch games.

The stream included teaser trailers and release date announcements, offering a glimpse into the diverse gaming experiences coming to the Switch. Highlights from the presentation include:  DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake  No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES  RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army  Shadow Labyrinth

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond One of the most exciting reveals was the trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Samus Aran finds herself on the planet Viewros, where she gains Psychic Abilities. These ancient powers allow her to manipulate her beams and control mechanisms.

The game promises a new tale of intertwined destinies and explorations beyond space and time when it launches on Nintendo Switch this year.

New Virtual Game Card Feature Nintendo also unveiled a new Virtual Game Card feature coming to the Switch. This feature will be released in late April as part of a system update. The new Virtual Game Card feature lets you easily manage your digital Nintendo Switch games, including lending to your Nintendo Account Family Group members. This innovative system allows you to manage digital games much like physical game cards. You can "eject" a game from one Switch and "load" it onto another, including systems belonging to family members. This lending feature will allow family group members to play the borrowed game for two weeks before it's automatically returned.

This feature will also be compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 systems at launch. The presentation also included trailers for other exciting games:  Gradius ORIGINS  Pokémon Legends: Z-A Rhythm Heaven Groove  Marvel Cosmic Invasion  EVERYBODY’S GOLF: HOT SHOTS Finally, Nintendo is launching a new app. Nintendo Today! is available to download later today from the App Store and the Google Play Store and will deliver daily Nintendo information and content directly to you.
