"Man on the Inside" Renewed for Season 2 on Netflix
Netflix has officially greenlit Season 2 of their hit comedy-mystery series "Man on the Inside," starring Emmy winner Ted Danson ("The Good Place"). The streaming giant announced the renewal through their X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, confirming the show will return in 2025.
The series, which premiered its 8-episode first season on November 21, 2024, has garnered significant critical acclaim. It currently holds an impressive 7.8/10 rating on IMDb and boasts a remarkable 95% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
"Man on the Inside" follows Charles (Danson), a retired professor who infiltrates the Pacific View Retirement Home as an undercover operative. After losing his wife and growing distant from his daughter Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis), Charles finds new purpose when he responds to an advertisement from private detective Julie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada). His mission: to solve the mystery of a stolen family heirloom within the retirement community.
The series features an accomplished ensemble cast including Stephanie Beatriz, Eugene Cordero, Sally Struthers, Marc Evan Jackson, Kerry O'Malley, John Getz, Miles Fowler, Clyde Kusatsu, Lori Tan Chinn, Susan Ruttan, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Veronica Cartwright.
Television comedy veteran Michael Schur, known for creating hits like "The Good Place," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," and "Parks and Recreation," developed the series. The show is executive produced by Morgan Sackett, David Miner, Maite Alberdi, Julie Goldman, and Christopher Clements. Interestingly, the series is adapted from the Oscar-nominated Chilean documentary "The Mole Agent."
While Netflix has confirmed a 2025 release window for Season 2, an exact premiere date has not yet been announced.
