Kit Harington Reveals Why He'll Never Watch "House of the Dragon"
Remember Jon Snow from "Game of Thrones"? The actor who brought him to life, Kit Harington, has some surprising news for fans. He's steering clear of the hit spin-off show "House of the Dragon". Let's dive into why this beloved star is keeping his distance from the world of Westeros.
The Dragon That Kit Won't Tame
"House of the Dragon" has been making waves since its debut. Set 200 years before the events of "Game of Thrones", it's got fans buzzing. But one person who won't be joining the excitement? Kit Harington himself.
In a chat with Associated Press, Harington spilled the beans:
"I wish them all the best. I hear 'House of the Dragon' is fantastic and doing really well. But I can't watch it. I think I spent too long in that world."
Wow! It's like saying no to a slice of your favorite pizza. But Harington's reasons make sense when you think about it.
A Walk Down Memory Lane? Not So Fast!
Here's another shocker: Harington isn't keen on rewatching "Game of Thrones" either. Even though it's been five years since the show ended, he's still not ready to relive those moments.
"I don't think I'll be watching 'Game of Thrones' again for many, many years," Harington shared. "It took me a long time to let that go."
It's like looking at old photos from middle school – sometimes, you just need a break!
Not Alone in the Dragon-Free Zone
Interestingly, Harington isn't the only "Game of Thrones" alum avoiding "House of the Dragon". Emilia Clarke, who played the fiery Daenerys Targaryen, also admitted she's having a hard time watching the spin-off.
"It's so weird," Clarke said last year. "I'm so happy it's happening. I'm over the moon about all the awards... I just can't do it. It's so weird. It's so strange."
Looks like these dragons are just too hot to handle for some of our favorite stars!
What's Next for Kit?
While Harington might not be watching "House of the Dragon", he's not stepping away from HBO completely. He's set to appear in the third season of "Industry", playing a CEO named Henry Muck. Talk about a change of scenery from the icy walls of Castle Black!
"Industry" season 3 kicks off on August 11th. As for "House of the Dragon", fans will have to wait until 2026 for season 3. That's plenty of time for a rewatch – even if Kit Harington won't be joining in!
