First Trailer for "Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League" Released

The trailer for "Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League" has been released. The Dark Knight returns to Japan in this sequel to the 2018 action anime film.

The "Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League" trailer showcases a new adventure for Batman set in Japan. Warner Bros. Japan shared the first trailer and poster for the sequel at this year's Anime Expo. Batman faces his old allies from the Justice League, now transformed into dark and menacing versions.

In this sequel, Batman will confront Jessica Cruz (Green Lantern), Aquaman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman. This time, however, the Justice League heroes appear as dangerous new figures in feudal Japan. In "Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League," Bruce Wayne must readapt to a time filled with samurais and ninja assassins. Unlike the first film, Batman now wears a costume deeply influenced by Japanese culture.

The first film, "Batman Ninja," released in 2018, transported Gotham's most notorious villains to feudal Japan through time travel. Without access to technology, the Dark Knight had to restore order using his wits and allies. In this new film, after defeating villains like the Joker and Gorilla Grodd, Batman now faces his former friends who have turned to the dark side.

The trailer shows the members of the Yakuza League depicted very differently from the classic DC heroes. Wonder Woman sports an eagle tattoo, The Flash wears a traditional Japanese straw hat, Aquaman dons a fisherman's bandana, and Green Lantern carries a Japanese-style lantern. It will be intriguing to see how Batman handles these new threats.

"Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League" is directed by Kamikaze Douga studio. Junpei Mizusaki, known for his work on "JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure" and "Promare," returns as the director, with Shinji Takagi as assistant director. The screenplay is written by Kazuki Nakashima, and character designs are by Takashi Okazaki. The music is composed by Yugo Kanno. Koichi Yamadera will once again voice the Dark Knight in this new Japanese adventure of Batman. More details about the film and the official release date are expected to be announced in the coming months.
