Fallout Season 2 to Take Place in New Vegas

New details are starting to emerge about Fallout season 2. Prime Video's popular video game adaptation is preparing to move the adventure to New Vegas.

Fallout season 2 is set to introduce viewers to the city of New Vegas. Adapted from Bethesda Softworks' world-renowned game series by Prime Video, the show is counting down the days to expand its fictional universe.

Premiering on April 10, 2024, the Fallout series, signed by Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider) and Graham Wagner (Portlandia), met with the audience. Consisting of a total of 8 episodes, the season has joined the ranks of Prime Video's most talked-about projects in recent months.

Quickly receiving approval for a 2nd season, the series has raised the expectations of many viewers due to both positive reviews and high ratings. With an average score of 8.6/10 on IMDb, the show has a 93% critic score and an 88% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Wagner, one of the creators of the series that tells the story of survivors in the post-apocalyptic period, had previously hinted in a statement that more was on the way, saying that with the first season, they had only "scratched the surface."

Now, with Fallout season 2, it has become clear that the adventure will be moving to New Vegas, the iconic city of the game series.

New Details Emerge About Fallout Season 2

With Fallout season 2, Lucy and Ghoul are expected to step into New Vegas. This location choice also opens up the possibility of many characters from the games joining the series.
Although the series doesn't follow the same story as the games, it takes place in the same universe. Therefore, it is highly likely that many common characters will appear in both the game and the series. In the game series, New Vegas holds a special place as it serves as a gateway between the Eastern and Western United States and remained relatively unscathed during the Great War.
While it is reported that a large portion of the new season could take place in New Vegas, the character of Courier 6 from the 2010 game Fallout: New Vegas is among the potential names that could appear in the series.
On the other hand, since players had the opportunity to design the Courier 6 character themselves in the game, the character's possible appearance in the series is entirely up to the producers.

The New Vegas of the Series Won't Be the Same as the Games'

The series' co-creators, Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, pointed out in an interview with GQ that their New Vegas would be a little different. Fallout 4 takes place in 2287, while Fallout: New Vegas takes place in 2281, a full 15 years before the events of the series.
Wagner noted the following about the change:
"There shouldn't be an expectation that we have to continue the series in the second season by following one of the countless canonical endings that depend on the choices you make while playing New Vegas.
"With the post-credits scene, we wanted to imply this: Guys, the world has moved on, and the idea that the wasteland remains the same from decade to decade seems absurd to us. This is a place where tragedies, events, horrors constantly occur. There is constant trauma and turbulent situations. We are definitely implying that more has happened."
