Disney Dreamlight Valley: Ranking All 11 Unlocked Realms
With the arrival of the Alice in Wonderland realm in Disney Dreamlight Valley, the Dreamlight Castle is filling up fast! There are now 11 unique realms for players to unlock, almost completing the main selection of doors.
Whether you're a seasoned player who's been following along since launch or a newcomer just starting your adventure, you now have the freedom to choose which realms to explore first. Each realm offers different costs, content, and characters, making some significantly more appealing than others. Let's dive into a ranking of all 11 realms!
Ranking the Dreamlight Valley Realms
11. WALL-E's Realm: Small and Simple Characters: WALL-E Cost: 3,000 Dreamlight When Disney Dreamlight Valley first launched, players had access to three realms: WALL-E, Moana, and Ratatouille. These initial realms were not only inexpensive, costing only 3,000 Dreamlight, but they were also quite small. While the Moana and Ratatouille realms don't offer much more in terms of size, they included more characters or engaging mini-games. Upon entering WALL-E's realm, you'll embark on the "Shy Little Robot" quest, helping him clean up trash and repair his tracks. Once completed, WALL-E joins your valley. However, this realm is tiny, lacks visual appeal, and the primary reason to unlock it is simply to obtain WALL-E himself.
10. Moana's Realm: Two Characters, Limited Content Characters: Moana & Maui Cost: 3,000 Dreamlight As another starter realm, Moana's world is also small, but it does include two characters: Moana and Maui. This means you'll spend a bit more time here compared to the other two starter realms, but it's still a relatively brief experience.
One drawback is that Moana and Maui are almost unlocked simultaneously, without much additional effort. The realm itself features a small shoreline and a grassy hill, limiting the possibilities for diverse quests.
9. Ratatouille: Culinary Fun Character: Remy Cost: 3,000 Dreamlight Although the Ratatouille realm is smaller than Moana's and features one less character, its content and charm elevate it in the rankings. You'll help Remy prepare meals for his restaurant customers, selecting ingredients and following recipes. Unlocking this realm also grants access to Chez Remy in your valley, a crucial building for boosting friendship levels with other villagers. The beautiful music adds to the overall delightful experience.
8. Beauty and the Beast: Beautiful, But Limited Characters: Belle & The Beast Cost: 12,500 Dreamlight The Beauty and the Beast realm is undeniably beautiful, but it can also be disappointing. The interior castle design feels expansive, but there's minimal interaction with the environment. Navigation can also be tricky. The main appeal lies in the realm's larger size compared to earlier ones and the inclusion of two iconic characters. Belle, as a classic Disney Princess, makes the realm worthwhile, even if the Beast is only in his Beast form. Future additions like Lumiere and Cogsworth could enhance this realm further.
7. Toy Story: A Fun Gimmick Characters: Woody & Buzz Cost: 7,000 Dreamlight The Toy Story realm shrinks you down to toy size, allowing you to assist Buzz and Woody in an enlarged bedroom. While the quests are basic, exploring the giant space as a toy captures the essence of being in Toy Story. The uniqueness of this realm helps it stand out. However, unlocking it means accepting Woody and Buzz, who remain toy-sized and have less-than-ideal homes in the valley.
6. Frozen: Enchanting, But a Missed Opportunity Characters: Elsa & Anna Cost: 4,000 Dreamlight The Frozen realm, set in the magical woods of Frozen 2, feels expansive. The quests are more engaging, and unlocking Elsa and Anna separately encourages more time spent here. For 4,000 Dreamlight, it's a great value.
However, the absence of Olaf within the realm feels like a missed opportunity. The beautiful fall colors and cozy atmosphere make it a delightful place to explore, but the lack of other potential characters limits its future appeal.
5. Monsters Inc.: Become a Monster Characters: Sully & Mike Wazowski Cost: 15,000 Dreamlight The Monsters Inc. realm takes place after the original movie, with the Scare Floor converted into the Laugh Floor. Although the realm is limited to an office space and the Laugh Floor, there's still plenty of fun to be had. You're required to wear a monstrous disguise while exploring, adding to the immersion. The doors in Monsters Inc. offer a perfect way to expand the realm with more characters in the future.
4. Mulan: More Than Meets the Eye Characters: Mulan & Mushu Cost: 15,000 Dreamlight The Mulan realm truly utilizes the potential of a realm. It includes two characters, Mulan and Mushu, with interlocking and lengthy quests. The realm features a wooded area leading to a training camp, where you complete training activities. A disaster occurs, forcing you to interact with the environment to progress. For 15,000 Dreamlight, the Mulan realm offers great value in terms of content and characters.
3. The Lion King: Continued Growth Characters: Simba, Nala, Timon, & Pumbaa Cost: 10,000 Dreamlight The Lion King realm has steadily increased in value since its release. Initially featuring Simba and Nala, it has been expanded to include Timon and Pumbaa. For 10,000 Dreamlight, The Lion King realm is a steal, with five associated characters in the valley. We may see more quests take place here in the future.
2. Aladdin: Feels Like an Expansion Characters: Aladdin & Jasmine Cost: 15,000 Dreamlight The Aladdin realm feels like you're getting more than your money's worth. You're faced with Agrabah in disarray, blocked by a sandstorm. You'll dodge dust devils, search for materials, craft items, cook, and help repair Agrabah. This is one of the most involved realms, with a larger area than most biomes in the valley. It truly feels like an expansion pack.
1. Alice in Wonderland: Sets a New Standard Characters: Alice & The Cheshire Cat Cost: 15,000 Dreamlight The Alice in Wonderland realm delivers on the wacky chaos of the original story. After paying the cost, you're led on a rabbit chase through the valley, eventually landing in a rabbit hole. The realm leads you into a forest where you search for Alice with the help of the Cheshire Cat. You'll solve riddles, navigate mazes, and avoid enemies. The inclusion of a shrunken puzzle to solve makes Alice in Wonderland the best of all realms. If this is the new standard, the future of Disney Dreamlight Valley realms looks bright.
