David Corenswet's Superman Takes Flight as Action Figure!

It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's the brand new David Corenswet Superman action figure from McFarlane Toys, just revealed in anticipation of James Gunn's upcoming DC film. This collectible immortalizes Corenswet’s Man of Steel in plastic, giving fans a tangible piece of the new DC Universe before it even hits theaters. The reveal coincided with "Superman Day," kicking off what promises to be a major merchandise wave.

This Superman figure is part of McFarlane's DC Multiverse seven-inch-scale Deluxe Theatrical Editions series. The figure meticulously recreates Gunn's and Corenswet’s vision of the iconic Superman costume. Adding to the fun, Superman isn't alone; he's accompanied by his loyal and mischievous companion, Krypto the Superdog. The deluxe figure set includes three interchangeable faceplates, two extra head sculpts, and a display base. Like other figures in the DC Multiverse line, this Superman comes with a collectible art card. Pre-orders are currently open, and the figure is priced at $37.99 USD. A standard, standalone figure with fewer accessories (just extra hands) and a larger 1:6th scale PVC statue are also planned. All figures are slated for release in June.

McFarlane Toys has consistently expanded its Superman collection, featuring figures from various comic book iterations and film adaptations. They have produced multiple versions of both Henry Cavill and Christopher Reeve's Superman. With Corenswet now taking on the mantle, a new wave of action figures, Funko Pops, and other collectibles based on his portrayal is expected.

More Heroes and Villains Incoming Corenswet's Superman won't be the only new character debuting in the film, which means more action figures are on the horizon.

Besides Superman, other Justice League members such as Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), Supergirl (Milly Alcock), and Guy Gardner's Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion) are set to appear. This almost guarantees they will become McFarlane figures. Villains like Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) and The Engineer (Maria Gabriela de Faría) are also strong candidates for figure treatment. Lex Luthor and Mister Terrific figures have already been announced.

What to Expect From the New Superman Movie The film itself is not an origin story. It portrays an established Superman already deeply in love with his colleague Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), navigating a complex world where the ideals of "truth, justice, and a better tomorrow" have become blurred.
