The news was confirmed by Ringo Starr himself during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. The 84-year-old musician expressed enthusiasm about Keoghan's casting, noting, "I think it's great. I believe he's taking drum lessons somewhere, and I hope he doesn't need too many."

Mendes, the director behind "American Beauty," "1917," and "Skyfall," is taking an unprecedented approach to telling the Beatles' story.
