American Airlines Announces New Winter Getaways to Warm Destinations

American Airlines is gearing up for next winter with a host of new routes designed to whisk travelers away to warmer climates. Whether you dream of sun-kissed beaches or volcanic landscapes, American is expanding its reach to make your winter getaway a reality.

This year, the airline is introducing five new routes to Cancun, Mexico (CUN), and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ), two incredibly popular destinations. For those yearning to explore the stunning volcanoes of Hawaii, American is also resuming convenient service to Kona (KOA). Furthermore, popular routes to Europe will see their service extended, allowing for more flexibility in your travel plans.

Escape to the Sun with New Routes American is solidifying its position as a leader in providing flights to beach destinations. With more than 270 peak daily departures to sought-after locations across Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America from the U.S., finding your perfect escape has never been easier.

Starting November 8th, American will mark a milestone by becoming the first airline to offer international service from Oklahoma, with a brand-new route connecting Oklahoma City (OKC) to Cancun, Mexico (CUN). If Cancun is on your radar, American is your go-to carrier. Boasting over 40 peak-day flights from 19 different cities beginning in November, American provides unmatched access to the beaches, vibrant cultures, and delicious cuisine of Cancun and the Riviera Maya.

Discover Punta Cana and Hawaii Following Punta Cana's victory in a recent airline promotion, American is adding even more routes to this popular destination. Beginning December 6th, four new routes will connect you to this vacation hotspot. This winter, with over 20 peak-day departures to 11 U.S. cities from PUJ, planning a dreamy getaway with American's convenient flights is a breeze. Starting around Thanksgiving, American is boosting service from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Hawaii.

Service to Kona (KOA) is resuming, and the airline is increasing service to Kahului (OGG). Building on the recently announced winter service between Chicago (ORD) and Honolulu (HNL), American will provide over 15 daily flights between the continental U.S. and Hawaii. Flights from DFW and ORD to Hawaii will offer nonstop access and premium cabins featuring lie-flat seats and a wide array of complimentary entertainment.

South America and Europe Expansion American is not just focusing on beaches. The airline offers the most daily flights between the U.S. and South America and is expanding its presence in popular vacation destinations for the holiday season. Between December and January, you can find up to four daily flights between Miami (MIA) and Buenos Aires, Argentina (EZE), a record for the airline. Additionally, up to 10 weekly flights will connect DFW and Sao Paulo (GRU), a more than 40% increase in weekly flights compared to last winter.

Overall, American provides up to 10 daily flights to Brazil from across the U.S., making it the leader in this market. If Europe is your destination of choice, American is extending seasonal summer service on select routes to Athens, Greece (ATH); Barcelona, Spain (BCN); and Dublin (DUB) this winter. This means more opportunities to explore these amazing cities without the summer crowds.

New domestic routes to Iowa and Arkansas will begin this fall, connecting Los Angeles (LAX) to Des Moines, Iowa (DSM), and Phoenix (PHX) to Little Rock, Arkansas (LIT), starting October 6th.
