"First Trailer for Final Season of 'Vikings: Valhalla' Released"

The first trailer for the third and final season of "Vikings: Valhalla" has been released. Netflix's spin-off series is set to bid farewell with exciting new episodes.

Created by Jeb Stuart, "Vikings: Valhalla" is set in the early 11th century and follows the legendary adventures of the Vikings. The third season presents the heroes with new and challenging obstacles. Freydis becomes the undisputed leader of Jomsborg, while Leif and Harald achieve victories in Constantinople. However, each must face greater challenges to reach their ultimate destinies.

First-look images from the final season were released last October. The new trailer reveals a seven-year time jump since the end of the second season. During this period, Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter) and Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett) continue their successes in Constantinople. Harald remains smitten with Eleana (Sofya Lebedeva), while Leif plans a journey westward. Meanwhile, Freydis (Frida Gustavsson) holds a powerful position as the leader of the pagans in Jomsborg, but the rapid spread of Christianity in Europe threatens the pagan way of life.

Royal intrigues also play a significant role this season. King Canute (Bradley Freegard) must negotiate with the Catholic Church, with Queen Emma (Laura Berlin) by his side, continuing to exert her influence. The trailer also teases the much-anticipated arrival of Erik the Red (Goran Višnjic), the father of Leif and Freydis.

In this final season, main cast members Sam Corlett, Frida Gustavsson, and Leo Suter return to their roles. Laura Berlin (Emma of Normandy), David Oakes (Godwin), and Bradley Freegard (King Canute) are also back. Guest stars include Pollyanna McIntosh (Queen Ælfgifu), Soren Pilmark (Sweyn Forkbeard), Sofya Lebedeva (Elena), Florian Munteanu (Maniakas), and Goran Višnjic as Erik the Red.

Produced by MGM Television, "Vikings: Valhalla" Season 3 is directed by Jeb Stuart, Morgan O’Sullivan, Michael Hirst, Sheila Hockin, Steve Stark, James Flynn, John Weber, Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer, and Paul Buccieri. The final season aims to conclude the series' legendary journey in an unforgettable way, cementing the legacy of the Vikings.

"Vikings: Valhalla" Season 3 will be available on Netflix starting July 11, 2024.
